I’m going to talk about Bastile soap by first talking about Castille soap. To make Castile soap 100% of the oil is olive oil from the Castille region in Spain. That’s it; water, lye and olive oil. Now olive oil doesn’t lather and bubble the way traditional soap does. It creates a very slick somewhat slimy soap. So it’s not everybody’s favorite. But no matter your skin type, your skin will love it.
Now we come to Bastille soap. It’s oil is at least 80% olive oil and we have 20% to play around with and add complimentary properties to the finished product. I only add one more oil and that’s castor oil. Castor oil is known for being bubbly and creating a nice lather. It also is good at drawing moisture to the skin. Chefs kiss it’s a beautiful soap.
My Bastille soap is unscented and contains only a few simple ingredients and I always recommend it for babies, kids, those with sensitive skin and really anyone else.

**Please note that none of my products contain palm oil (because palm oil production is bad for the rainforest). Because of this my soaps are softer than most and do not last as long. To make them last longer make sure there are not sitting in any direct water in the bath or shower.
